Quazy

So I was walking through Big Lots the other day, and suddenly I felt as though I had been transported back in time.  On the shelf I saw this:

Call me crazy, but this doesn't look like a 21st century cereal.

I'm going to have a hard time not ordering the Quisp timepiece . . .

Wearing Fur

For whatever reason, Bella prefers always to lie on something.  Whether it's a book, or an exercise mat, or a newspaper, she generally drapes herself over something rather than just lying on the bare carpet.  So yesterday, it was no surprise to see her plastered across the backpack that I'd left on the living room floor.

It was thought provoking, however.

It made me consider: wouldn't a cat in a backpack be infinitely more interesting than a cat on a backpack?

I understand that it's usually a Chihuahua or a teacup Yorkie that becomes a handbag pet, but why not a good-natured cat?  Could I be like one of those pet-toting celebrities?

Turns out, I could.

I apologize for the atrocious quality of these photos.  I don't normally use flash, but I didn't really have a choice in this case.

And I don't know if you've ever attempted to photograph yourself wearing a cat in a backpack, but I'm here to tell you that it's somewhat of a challenge.  Composition wasn't a consideration.  I was pretty much just blindly shooting - in most cases over my shoulder.

Bella seemed to enjoy her stint as a papoose.  I toted her around for quite awhile with no complaints.

"What's to complain about?  This is the life, man!"

Cool Kids

Back from vacation and missing the family.  Here are my excellent nieces and nephew.

Katherine."Could I play a little Vivaldi for you?"

John.

"Hi."

"Hang on a minute; I just need to nail that squirrel."

Margaret.

"I really do have hands and elbows, even though my Aunt Sue persists in cutting them off in pictures."

Elizabeth.

"Are we done yet?"

A girl and her mouse.

Miss you guys!
